How can I add an extra module position to my template?

This task requires a little knowledge of PHP, HTML and CSS. You need to choose a module position that you don't already have, or you can invent a new module position name. Go to Site->Template Manager->Site Templates and choose the template you are using. Click the button for editing the HTML file. Look out for the code word mosLoadModules and see how it is used to load a module. You need to copy this code for your module. Now you need to find a good place in the code to insert your module and probably you will want to insert it inside a DIV element. Next edit your template's CSS file. Now you need to specify the style for your DIV, not how this is done for other modules. When you have done this, try publishing a module in your new position and see what happens! Experiment until the desired effect. |
