How do I change the little icon shown in the address bar?
This little icon file is by default called favicon.ico and resides in your site's root directory - the same directory as e.g. configuration.php is in. However, this is not the location Joomla uses. The Joomla favicon is placed in the images directory. To change it, do the following: Use a image editing program to create a 16x16 pixel image and save it as an .ico file. Name this file e.g. mysite.ico and upload it to the images folder. Now in Joomla administration, go to Site->Global Configuration and change the name of the favicon file listed there to the name you used. Now try loading your site in your browser and press CTRL-F5 to refresh it. The new icon should normally now load. If it doesn't, there may be problems with your image format or the browser is still using a cached image.
